SD card recorder as a supplement to network recording

Cameras with an integrated SD card slot can additionally be operated as a stand-alone unit, a permanent connection to a network is not neccessary. Contrary to mere network recording, all pictures are stored locally in the camera. This ensures a flexibility of surveillance operations, e.g. when monitoring construction sites. It also ensures flexibility during temporary applications due to a minimum of cabling efforts. A permanent transmission of data to a network is not neccessary. This would only put a strain on an existing network while evaluating data.

For data analysis, e.g. a notebook is connected via the network or the SD card is removed and read out externally.
